The Role - EHS Specialist

This market leader is recruiting a talented EHS Specialist to work at their manufacturing site in Oxfordshire. Working with the EHS Manager, the EHS Specialist provides central business expertise in EHS legislation, best practice and advice on necessary process change in the business

What are my responsibilities?

  • Support compliance to OSHAS18001 & ISO14001 across the site and ensure that current environmental, health and safety legal requirements are implemented in full
  • Communicate with process owners, managers and on site contractors to ensure best practice, where appropriate
  • Encourage and support the implementation of appropriate corrective and improvement action as necessary for the business, as well as coach and influence at all levels within the business
  • Participate actively in and support site safety initiatives, risk management, auditing, etc.
  • Identify and assist relevant training to support EHS activity

Your Background - EHS Specialist

What do I need to qualify for the role?

  • Good EHS experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Very good understanding of EHS legislation and codes of practice
  • Effective communication, motivational and influencing skills
  • Good IT skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to work independently, to demonstrate accountability and decisiveness
  • A NEBOSH certificate or training to an equivalent level would be ideal but not essential
