The Company - Quality Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer

My client is part of a world leading technology group with representation in over one hundred countries worldwide and an enviable product portfolio which incorporates domestic, commercial, industrial, medical and corporate sectors. Their business is built upon substantial investment in start of the art' manufacturing facilities, innovative product development, the recruitment of good people and a long-term commitment to Research and Development.

The Role - Quality Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer

Due to continued and sustained expansion, they seek to recruit a technically motivated Quality Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer, responsible for a number of key functions at one of their most prestigious modern manufacturing facilities in the UK.

What is the purpose of this role?

  • To maintain and obtain new regulatory approvals that satisfies worldwide customers
  • To manage final inspection process documentations and meet the standards for the design and fabrication of pressure equipment
  • To ensure the manufacturing and design processes deliver products which meet regulatory approvals.

Your Background - Quality Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer

A good understanding of:

  • Manufacturing processes and controls affecting compliance (welding, non-destructive testing, dielectric testing, etc)
  • Product design fundamentals (FEA etc.), mechanical and electrical engineering, EMC compatibility and electrical safety
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Access is essential

A basic understanding of:

  • Risk Analysis techniques (FMEA principles)
  • Applicable regulatory framework, European Directives (Pressure Equipment, EMC, LVD, Machinery, Medical Device, RoHS) and other applicable international regulatory requirements, such as FDA
  • Relevant harmonised and consensus standards, (e.g. IEC 60601-1)
  • Quality Assurance principles and Quality Management Systems (IS0 9001 based)
  • An experience in quality auditing would be ideal
